Who was Gandhi's father?
His father Karamchand Gandhi was the Diwan of Porbandar state of British India. His mother Putlibai was Karamchand's fourth wife. Having born in a Hindu family Gandhi strictly followed vegetarianism and fasting as means of self-purification.
